The vibes were great here. It has a real local feel. English was limited but it worked out fine for the most part. The food was all good. The hair crab was sweet and fresh. My favorite drink was Yubari (melon) King Sour. My favorite item was the chicken cartilage. Although I’m not sure if it was limited English or because we were foreigners. There were a couple discrepancies. For example, a group of locals got seated before us even though we were already in line. We got charged more than expected. There is a customary table charge which is normal. Only problem was we came there with 2 total people and were charged table charges for 4 total people. Also, the last 4 drinks were charged even though we ordered the all you can drink and we were within the time limit (we know we were because they are supposed to ask for last call, and when they asked us for last call, we asked if it was okay to order 2 more drinks and they said it was alright. We got 4 extra drinks over the time limit charges (charged as à la carte). Finally, we ordered sea urchin (uni) but they mistakenly brought out 2 crab gunkan sushi. We told them it was a mistake. The waitress said “sorry we are out of uni,” so we accepted it. We thought it was odd because when we ordered it she didn’t say they were out. So when we asked another person for uni they put the order in and we got 2 just fine. Which means she probably didn’t want to go through the trouble of fixing her mistake and just lied to us that they were out. It wasn’t too much money overcharged so we figured it was like tip for them but it was the principle and we wanted to let others, especially foreigners, be aware of the potential circumstances. We don’t think it was malicious but you never know. So be aware and keep track. They could be using the language barrier as an excuse or just not care cause you are a foreigner. Shocking and funny, because staff is friendly and everything but hard to tell if they are sincere or not.
